does this need to be there or can it run with out it ,no 18,19 21

You could run it..if you want to cook your engine..

I would not recommend it, the heat from the exhaust will enter in to the cold zone of the engine and thus you will be running hotter and hotter and never have a cold zone..

Its like the people who remove the flaps from the fan housing..Vw put it there for a reason.and it was not for people to remove it...

That you asked this question before doing it is good.

That you have to ask it means you need to get a better understanding of how your vehicle works before you consider making any other changes. Theres lots of information on the web or get yourself a good manual, it could save you a lot of heartache. :)

i dont think there is any flaps in the fan housing ether :evil:
 
why would some one want to take it off :?: and coming from a hot climate as well.

i thought that is what i was doing getting info from the web,if i buy moore books i wouldnt get to know the nice people on here,and the chance to meet up hopefully in summer,if i can work out how to start the bus :lol:
as for the ? iknow what this dose, as in many other things they are put in,but with the flaps missing as well the engine is getting cooled all the time,? tell me or is it a secret.
its nice to talk and help . init? i didnt think i was changing anything some one else has changed it. if i wasn't putting new cv joints on i would not have noticed this missing
perhaps i shouldnt be doing them as the book didn't tell me to it was the peps on here :wink:

well mine dident have flaps and i struggled keeping it warm so there beter in than out,

but i have to say i ran a beetle a few years ago as a daily,with none of the outer tin and i never had any probs.i dont recomend this.it was a few years ago and i dident even know it was missing :oops:.but like i say no probs at all.

for what it costs stick it on.
 
i am going to fit them.i wonder how many peps are missing the cable from the rod to the
black thing on the right hand side :wink: opps got that from my book :roll:

Hey Rich!

I gotta funny feeling my stat and controls are all missing too, fairly sure i have bug tin not bus too, i'm in the same boat too. Mine will have to come out sometime...... :(
