I know there are a few longboarders on here so thought you might like to see some pics of my new set-up:

-The deck was shaped out of a lovely piece of ash by Paul Knowles from Grizboards http://longboardsbygrizbee.webs.com/ and measures 60 4/8 x 11 1/8 x 6/8. This was custom made to my spec. Fantastic service can't rate Paul enough (he's a vw guy too)
-The trucks are Original S10 (250mm). These are the widest trucks i could find.
-Bearings are Bones Swiss, expensive but worth it.
-Wheels are Orangatangs 75mm 80a

This has all cost a small fortune, fortunately the deck was a Xmas present from my lovely wife :)
Just waiting for the weather to dry out a little so i can bomb some local hills 8)

Here are some pics, hope you like?

Looks quick just standing still!

So to risk exposing myself as a skating noob  - are long boards mainly for bombing downhill?
