I'm eventually getting around to lowering my westy and am thinking of going the Thause spindles up front with horseshoes (non adjustable) at the back.

Has anyone gone this route (ie without adjusters up front too) and if so any pics so I can see the drop I'm looking at)

Cheers people

Yep Monty my old red panel van and our current bus Billy ran this set up until jan 2013, works well but you will need to fit coil overs on the front to control travel, look for Gaz damper thread

Thanks graham, looks spot on, just got to cross my fingers that it brings the bus down enough to get in my garage too then all will be good

P.S. my old bus had these. Turned one or two splines at the rear, no need for any new kit at the back... for me anyways

Aye, got new wheels and tyres, graham has pointed me towards the shocks so just need to read through the thread to get the optimum size.

175/55/15 on the front 185/65/15 on the rear should be your tyre sizes, bigger ones on the front will rub, both pictures above are with this tyre combo. Damper size should be straight forward if you look at the thread.

As George as said you can achieve the same on the rear by using splines but this does effect the camber on the rear wheels, fitting Horseshoe plates doesnt but its a squeeze to get the rears on and off if its a flat arched bus (Pre 71)
