Help! just bought a solex twin carb kit for my 72 van with a 2L type 4 engine. The problem is that the linkage will not lineup with the throttle cable hole in the bulkhead. I've tried to take a pick of the new set up but (just positioning the linkage with the origional set up still in place) has not come out very well. The problem is the new linkage is in the centre of the engine while the origional is offset to the left hand carb by about 15cm. If I connect this up it will foul both the bulkhead and the plug lead!! Any ideas guys?View attachment carbs.jpg

There are standard 34PDSIT fitted with a oilbath filter they were on when i bought the van and assumed that they are standard setup?. These are still on but the left carb leaks petrol out of the the butterfly shaft and accel pump gasket. so i thought Id treat the old gal to new carbs. But the linkage is all in the wrong place. Any ideas?

That linkage is correct for a T1 engine where the throttle cable comes through the fan shroud.

I spoke to the guy who sold it me yesterdsy (his company will raimain nameless) and he glibly said "O yes all you have to do is move your bulkhead throttle position to the centre of the van!". He somhow failed to mention this small fact when I bought the kit! As this is now a FAR bigger job then I want to tackle I have had to return the kit.
So now I'm on the hunt for a replacment left had Solex PDSIT.

Wouldnt it be easier to cut off and re weld the bell crank linkage?
