looking at changing rear tyres on bus, much cheaper to buy online but do i need a special rating with it being bigger than a car ?

there are lots of different oppinions on this, I havent used van tyres, I was told as long as the cumalative load for all 4 tyres adds up to more than the wight of the van then you are ok.

others may disagree though.

Hi!

I am running 185R Commercials - as a commercial vehicle this is what they need, though many people running alloys or on lowered vans have lower profile tyres. As mentioned above, you really need to get the tyre rating weight right, some folk are running smart car tyres :?
I'm sure a insurance company or police may frown on running a car/van with incorrect loaded tyres?

Cheers!

Your right with this, but it more the possible weight the van can hold that the tyres are rated on. That's the key. I.e. the gross weight.

But like I say I dont use C rated tyres as I wanted lower profile.
