Hi all,
just been dreaming about winning the lottery and it got me thinking...............what would your ultimate bus be if money was no object, would you keep yours and what mods etc would do????.....i wonder what they would look like and who would spend the most wonga.......

...............ahhh enjoy lottery pipe dreams.................kev

hi it would be early bay of course !! crew cab pick up original interior and sign writtern paint porsche engine ,gas burners ,and air suspention , metal halide lighting,and air con for the summer it would also have to be capable of street and strip use. easily done with a unlimited budgethttp://forum.earlybay.com/posting.php?mode=reply&f=1&t=14980#" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I'd have our bus restored with new metal where required and a return to the original colour on the outside as it would have been when it rolled out of Devon Conversions in 1968. The interior would receive a resto keeping the original paint and parts as it wears the experience of it's 40 years handsomely and it would be a shame to wipe that out and make it look too new.

Underneath time for some modern suspension (that new Red 9 wishbone setups look good) with some big brakes and a big solid motor to wiz along the trans continental motorways and fly over the alps.

Then if money really where no object I'd take the rest of the year off and chase the sun around to the southern hemisphere for the winter.

i would like an early bay version of the original split screen race taxi. 500bhp 993 turbo running gear but with full leather camping interior. and a nice carpeted heated workshop to store it in :D

A garage.....thats all I want, happy with the bus just want a nice warm serviced garage and maybe a brother for it a nice DC......

My Bus but it timewarp condition and a mint Fridolin in its original German Post Office colours. 8)
And a Carman Ghia for the good lady

My bus of course but with a 2.0ltr engine big brakes original wheels still though not sure thats possible but i'd pay someone to make it possible!

Prob have a respray but instead of original colour i'd have the colour of the original paint thats faded to a lovely off white all over I love the aged look!

I'd keep my interior but get some clever hidden mod cons like power and insulation lol possibly a dvd player n screen for when my nipper gets a bit older!

I'm a sucker for shiny stuff so i'd have to have deluxe bumper trim at the back to match the front and a full length polished roor rack with ladder and a couple fog lights!

I'd go back lower with the most expensive set up possible maybe air ride!

Not that i've thought about this much!

I hate being poor!

I would keep my bus exterior as it is, which is a tasteful amount of patina, although there is 1 dent that i hate so that would have to go. But with lottery £££ it would have a 2332cc screamer, 48ida webers, MSD ingition and a CSP python exhaust system. Basically the engine you would find in a 9 second beetle, oh and a Gene Berg 5 speed box, CSP disc would be fitted to. New pop-top canvas and a mint interior with a mad sound system, hidden of course. Auto meter gauges would be nice to. Also to keep Grazy happy, i would lower it. He has a slight slam fetish

The finishing touch...... Full chrome Moon speedmaster rims

A 67 westy RHD earlybay (if there are any) on air all round, tubbed and everything in the right place. A 5 speed box with a stonking 3litre engine and some new socks

Not that i have thought about this much BUT i would like a van with no rust in, soo send mine in total rebuild, big brakes all around from ginger busses while at it i will get him to chuck in a impreza kick ass engine :msn4: , air ride suspension all around and the best ever interior that you have ever seen.
Thats the weekend run around for the daily i want a early mint double crew cab.
That will do for starters.

I like to dream
Split level house overlooking Polzeath with quadruple garage and half pipe in the back garden!

My bus with the Porsche engine I have fitted and the matching trailer finished. If only I had the time!
Whilst I'm dreaming also to go back in a time machine to 68 and buy one of each vw model lock them safely away then find them in the future (now)

If money was no object i would by a samba and then shorten it, slam it and air ride it then go to a SSVC meet with a my other car is a bay sticker on the back ;)
