Urgent help needed please, cannot lock sliding door

Hi all, finally got the camper home after 6 months refurb and have an issue I need to solve tonight as don't want to risk losing all that hard work.

The sliding door will not lock. The door handle will not pull the rear end in when lifted up and therefore unable to turn key to lock it. Am I correct that it is the striker plate at the rear on the c pillar that controls this?

Any tips greatly appreciated.

Also while on the subject of the sliding door when I close it the latch on the door seems to catch the lower part of the catch plate on the b pillar. I cannot adjust it down any more and the door catch (the one with the two threaded bars on) is non adjustable.
