Hi all

Having a few problems with the 79 bay panel 1600 tp. When pulling away in 1st gear it will intermitantly have hideous judder and you have to just drop the clutch with lots of throttle to move off, it dosent happen everytime but i would say %90 of the time, which is a real nuisance when stuck in traffic up a hill on the A303!!!! :x If you pull away in 2nd or reverse theres no judder or problems atall and there is no issues once pulled away. It had a new clutch kit and flywheel oil seal about 2000 miles ago and has been fine uptill this weekend. Any ideas? One would think if the clutch was cattled it would do it in every gear? same with a flywheel or drivershaft?

Any help/advice much appreciated! :)

Sounds like clutch springs?

If you have had a new recent clutch it might be the gearbox though..

what are the engine/gearbox mounts like? could the engine be twisting and juddering about? Thats what caused a similar problem in my old bug.

Check that the clutch cable outer case at the gearbox end has the correct bend in it. Look at Haynes for measurements.
