Firstly I hate posting bus wanted ad's, always seems like you're being lazy and asking others to search for you, I've searched on all the sites I can think of.

Budget is £9000 cash [it's in £20's in a carrier bag and does look a lot of money], you could say £9k isn't enough but it just about bought my 57 which I regarded as to cheap but it took a year to sell so couldn't have been.

Vehicle: I'm not fussed really, early late/split, an early bay.

Things I like are.

OG paint assuming it's covering 99% of the bus.
Headlings.
If repainted, original colour.
Would prefer straight panels.
LHD or RHD.
Hot country import over European.
TAX EXEMPT

If I list what I don't really want it'll narrow things down a bit further.

Panel van [though I did go after Chris's ex on vzi]
Converted panel van.
Rot boxes, don't mind a little work but want to use it this year.
Don't want to pay a fortune for home made interiors that I can do those myself.
If you're offering a bus as a westy can it have a westy interior and not just the roof.

I lke building my own interiors, I can do my own upholstery, I do my own bodywork and mechanics, there's got to be something out there.

I've posted this wanted ad as it's quite urgent that I get the cash spent, my current situation means cash sitting around gets spent on things like shopping, the longer the search takes the less I'll have to spend :(

Most important thing SHE'S GOT TO LIKE IT

did you rob a bank or have you recently emigrated from new zealand? :D

dont worry about asking, alot of the good buses wont be listed yet and maybe still on the slow boat from the US or SA. I'm sure there will be a few traders who will contact you. The traders that advertise with us are proven and honest and most of all are know personally to our members so you can trust them.

 Just sold my 57 split [wishing I hadn't now  ].

I thought buses had come down in price because of the recession :?: it really hit split prices [well slowed sales right down  ] but bays seemed to have gone through the roof :?

I sold a mint 69 westy 2 1/2 years ago for £7.5k, they seem to be making £10k+ now

I've had the cash sitting here since last Saturday and been on the net solid since, as per usual all the buses are slightly out of reach or sold, I've PM'd many owners asking £10k ish if they'd except £9k cash now and most haven't replied.

Really just looking for some summer fun and don't mind split or bay [gotta be early bay though ;) ], I've stuck this ad on SSVC and VZi as well so hopefully something will turn up soon 8)

I loved this but it's been sold

I loved this but could never work out how much it was gonna cost :?

even now I haven't the foggiest what the asking price was [total cost] :?:

So bag full of cash money, no waiting for banks/cheques etc and no messing [gotta be nice though ;) ]

Yeah, I wonder why Bay prices have skyrocketed. Kinda sad. I liked being able to buy bays on the cheap while split nuts went crazy over $2500 rotted out shit boxes.

Guess the split guys finally wised up and moved into an early bay. :)

Brian

We've just had a sound Westy Poptop in thats £5K as landed needs tidying up but I don't think is in OG paint, we've also got a genuine and definitely OG paint 70 Deluxe Microbus, needs a bit more work but comes landed at £3800.

Pictures of the Westy in the For Sale section, pictures of the Deluxe to follow but I'm now away for a week!!

That is really close to what I'm wanting Graham [I had a good look at the pic's this morning], so close I called the missus over to look
If it was a little straighter and a little more complete I'd be up for it, trouble is I should have enough cash for a straight/complete one and I know how bleeding hard it can be to find missing bits of westy furniture  .

That's the closest so far and a bloody good price [and it's not sold yet :?: ].

I have another Sink Unit in Stock so thats not a problem!!,

Its not sold as I only posted the pictures up yesterday and so far only on this site, it will be going on the Samba & VZI later

Sorry Graham, when I said it's not sold yet perhaps I should have used a  instead of a :?: .

I was implying that from what I've seen for sale so far, thats a bloody good looking bus for the money and I was surprised it hadn't been snapped up yet, wasn't questioning the quality of the bus.

As for the sink unit, my first westy [12 years ago] had one missing and I still hadn't found one when I sold it two years later. I guess theres a lot more stuff imported nowadays :D

Still looking guys, cash payment sitting in front of me ;)

Would be good if we can get something sorted before the end of next week

Cheers
Brian :D

Oh yeah, definitely favouring early westy's ;)
