Hi all, just wondering if anyone actually uses their westy fridge/cool box? Are they actually any good?

I'm thinking of buying a decent coleman cool box and maybe taking out the westy cool box and turning that unit into extra storage, anyone done this?

We use ours all the time ;)
On a weekend trip i freeze 2 x 2litre bottles of water and they usually stay frozen from fri eve till sun! And if on a site we take 4 freezer packs, use 2 at a time and they usually have a freezer somewhere so you can change them over when needed!
I am also going to take mine out shortly and see if i can improve on the insulation to make it more efficient :msn4:

I use ours too, it actually works very well. Mainly use it for auxiliary cold beer storage with some ice packs for the third/forth day of camping after the regular cooler has given up, or just for overnight use.

It's good to know they actually work, I think I may use it just for beer. The food can go in the coleman I reckon.

we use ours as well and also use freezer packs. A lot of campsites will re-freeze them for you.
We generally only put a couple of days worth of food in there, and the odd bottle of chardonnay!

We use ours. I put a few of the freezer packs on the ice shelf and put a couple half gallon milk jugs ( or 1 one gallon) on the bottom. The one gallon jug lasted the whole weekend.

I think I would put your beer in a regular ice chest though. The ice box keeps things cold, but IMO not cold enough for my drinks! I like my drinks really cold! :)

Use fresh and pre chilled/frozen stuff and they can work well.
