Have moved this from technical as i was not getting anywhere....
Has anyone tried to remove a westy ply headliner- how do you do it without breaking the damn thing (want to move it from a doner van to my Deluxe- solves the ripped headliner probs). The item is in good nick but am worried about ripping the ply, also how are the metal channels attatched and how would be the best way of removal/ refit?

Same goes for the interior wooden pannels.

How have any of you resecured the Westy seats back into the floor- mine wont have the nice threaded attatchments found on the cargo floor that the Westy had- Do i just drill though or has anyone got a better system in place (would like to be able to move units on occassion for load carrying)?
HELP PLEASE!!!!!
Ben :?

Anyone your help is needed- want the van to be ready for Volksworld show.

The head lining isn't too hard to get out. Take the sun visors out & any securing screws. Take the trim off around the pop top hole. There are 2 side bits of ply that slide out, you can then bend the front out of the channel.

Once the over head locker is removed in the back, the rear ply lining is simple to get out.

For the seats, you can either bolt through the floor, use a welded captive nut underneath, or a threaded insert...

Thanks- you make it sound easy, will have another go- any ideas on who supplies the threaded inserts??

Help appriecated

Ben

Normally the come in a kit & can be expensive. Tool shops or even online rest stores may have them. If it's just one or two you want, it might be worth drilling a pilot hole, then going to a local garage or engineering place & get it fitted.

It's not that hard to get the liner out...
