in the large hole ??????? any ideas

just got back from rtts in a monsoon all the way home , there was water getting into the engine bay and this is the only way in besides air intakes , what goes there , who sells the parts?
are they surposed to be there?

regards
chris

Looks like a rear offside inner wheel arch and there shouldn't be a hole there...unless a previous owner had some reason for putting the hole there (air-intake scoop to engine bay maybe?)

Nothing - it should be metal. OG holes are stamped - that looks cut to me.

If you dont want to weld it up then you will need to make or find a suitable bung (large blanking grommet?) since the alternative is to have muck and water enter the engine bay and worse, in dusty conditions, a lot of dust getting in which will also clog your air filter.

The fan will suck any dust raised by the vehicle into the engine compartment. Bad idea. Thats why the air intakes are high up and theres a rubber seal going round the engine lid.
