Black plates look good on a white bus IMO.

US style plates on ex US vans get my vote :)

No they aint road legal.....show plates only....

You could get the vintage silver on black uk plates which look fine (embossed or riveted)....

you could get the us style for shows etc....vintage cali ones (to 72 i think)were yellow text on blue.....

Got mine done by statesplates. Never changed them foor the MOT and never been pulled.
If you keep your choice of plate sensible (ie Black plate with white silver or off white letters) you will be on the right side of the law.
Ive been followed by the cops, they over took me, waved and drove on.

Yeah i get them form craigs plates too, the reason yours ended up with white front and yellow rear Steve is because he didn't have any black ones in, i thought they would look a bit naff but when we put them on i thought they look good and yeah a little different from the white on black too.

they are not strictly road legal, there is no problem with white on black up until 1973 but aparently the numbers and letters are about 2mm shorter than they should be to meet the law now days. i don't know anyone that has ever been stopped or any problems with MOTs, there are people all over the place with much more obvious illegal modern plates that seem to get away with it. I think half the police either dont care or don't know the reulations back in the late 60's/early 70's anyway. regulations weren't so tight then, there were even different styles of numbers and letters available...
