im ditching the white wheels and looking to get something chrome, not sure what yet.

when the people that are selling them say no guarantee on how long they will last,i start thinking mabee i dont want to part with my cash on wheels that will be shafted by next year :?

so not only am i not sure what wheels to go for, im unsure of where to get them from

any advise,

they seem to have a very good reputation.
also you could try midland wheels.some people are not too keen.problems with chrome etc,but prices are cheap.

If you want chromies then get some 356 wheels - they look fantastic on buses!

If you keep them clean and give them a spray with the trusty WD40 they should stay fresh for ages!

That man speaketh the truth.... i bought mine secondhand in 2005 and they still look spanking, they don't see the road during the winter tho.

the problem with chrome wheels is that when they flake its game over. get them polished and keep on top of them with polish. if you kerb them you can polish it out. and if you fail to keep on top of them you can get them repolished for a few quid as repolishing takes a fraction of the time of the original polish. i run some polished porker rims on my golf

but i have actually got a set of chrome plated teledials in the loft that i bought for my camper when i first bought it. the only way to chrome an alloy is to mirror polish it to perfection. then brass plate it then triple dip it in chrome. no company ever does this properly (my tele's are the best up close) hence the reason that two years in and chrome rims end up looking crap.

they looked very small on the golf. but had to run on them for a week whilst i waited for the tool to roll the arches

What sort of cash we talking about for a set of these? They look mint.

Forget chrome and just get polished alloy unless your prepared to spend mega bucks and maintain to within an inch of the wheels life.

im loving these but dont want to spend that much really, well id be tempted at £500 but im sure they will go higher
