Whats the best carburettor for standard single vac dissy

Hi all, I have a standard 1600 twin port and a brocar 34 pict 3 carb, I am looking to replace it for a OG Solex 34 pict 3 or replace it with something better? Or older maybe an older style carb what about a Solex 30 PICT-2 so what do the Gurus think?

That's interesting i didn't realise you would get better mileage out of a twin carb setup, also I still get annoyed why I after endure American spell checker - realise has a 'S' realize is not a fekkin word - Twats!

hi, is it vac only dizzy or SVDA?

34pict3 is for SVDA

vac only dizzy is 30pict1, 30pict2 or 30pict3. I use 30pict3 and think it is the best one

SVDA, the problem started when i got some '****' in the carb, (california sand?) but just would not idle after that ran fine before. Anyhow I fitted a Filterking but try as i might i could not clean the carb, everything works fine choke, cutoff just setting it up was impossible, I have stuck another brocar carb and it's now running again. The other carb was a OG one but it must have some **** stuck in one of the airways which i can't get at, I though about sticking it in a bucket of carb cleaner but i don't think it would guarantee to remove the offending piece of detritus. Any thoughts to how to make the carb clean?

I'd just take the top off the carb and all the jets out and give everything a good blast of compressed air

Done all that I think there is something/grit stuck in the idle circuit
