Hi all,

I'm looking to put some different interior panels in my '71 Dormy. The original panels have been replaced with tan coloured items which are fine but they aren't pressed the same as original ones and have those screws with chrome caps on, again, not an original look.

I was wondering what other people had fitted and if there was a company that makes more period looking panels, preferably with hidden screws (or are they a massive ballache to fit?)

Cheers

I got my door cards from newton commercial, really pleased with the quality: http://www.newtoncomm.co.uk/cars/vw-camper-van/model-130/panels/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

There's also a couple of posters on here, delilahs and doly daydream spring to mind but there could well be others

cool, I'd forgotten about Newton - saw their panels at VoWo last year and thought they looked pretty good.

Are they hard to fit? Are the holes in van doors generally in the same place do you know?

I've not got round to fitting them yet :lol: I did check the holes when I got them and they looked good though. I know of a couple of people who have fitted them and heard no complaints!

I've got parts all over the house I haven't fitted yet!

Cool, cheers.

I have the panels from Newton too and am well pleased with them. I have the complete set including the front panels under the dash upholstered in the same vinyl.
I did have an issue with one panel because they sent me a RHD panel for my LHD bus. They didn't know there was a difference so they asked me to send my old knackered original. They made a new panel based on my old original panel, upholstered it for me and sent me the new one. Good customerservice.

All the holes line up pretty good and the panels can be fitted with the hidden clamps. It did cost a pretty penny though but well worth it.

I have the biscuit coloured panels and I really like them;

150 for seats and doors used my own card though cut from the original, but they will supply them at an extra cost if you like

Red TMI's look good Chris - I love the detail of the red dial on the Bush radio to match the trim and the beige to match the van, very nice.
