Hi folks!

I'm thinking of getting rid of the MWS fuch and tyres on my westy

honeycarrie503.jpg

and replacing them to get this look...

...I think i may have sorted a set of steel rims powdercoated black but not sure about the tyres!

Is KK the only place that sell these?

whats everyone think?!

Why not get your tyres white walled by our very own Mr Whitewalls 8) (ant if you didn't know)
Plan on getting mine done sooner rather than later ;)

can anyone tell if the tyres on the blue bus are the same as the ones on the blue bus?

i think the profile / stance looks spot on!

Hi!

If you keep your tyres, i would get ant to whitewall them, much cheaper than 60-80 each for new whitewall tyres.......Assuming you still keep wide 5 14" steels - not 15" splitty of course!

And as soon as i get some new tyres in the stock size i want, I'll be doing exactly that! Whitewalls on stock steelies rock - especially when slammed! ;)

Cheers!

Alistair

I don't think the current tyres on the fuch will suit stock steels - too modern looking!

Don't want to lower the bus anymore as it carries lots of stuff! and don't like the gap in the wheel arch, so thought the whitewall ones (195 / 75 / 14) would fill the gap?!

I've looked at tyres without the whitewall in the same size as the KK ones but their about £55 so would be cheaper to buy the KK ones :?

If i remember correctly, Ant charges £15 per wheel
Surely its cheaper to have tyres whitewalled than buy whitewalled tyres?

Hi!

Fair enough, though a larger profile tyre will raise it a little too. Talking about gap in the wheel arch - mines stock height, and running 175/65 14's  If mine was slammed, it'll look sweet, but pregnant GF and bouncy ride isn't a good match! :D Hence my need for hoops too!
I recall reading that the 195 / 75 / 14 is more or less a spot on match for the original 7.00 crossplies. More stuff here:

mikey if you have the whitewalls in 195/75/14 and carry lots , with the ride height you have you will deffo get rubbage on front arches as i had exactly the same problem so now running 185/60/14 on the front and 185/65/14 on the rear at nearly the same running height as your bus , no probs now......i may go the route of putting 185/75`s on the rear and moving the 65`s to the front as i think it would look 8) ant is next on my list
sorry forgot to say they are stock steels coloured to match the bus
ste :D

I've got some powder coated in cream small five steel wheels with 185 tyres that are going to be whitewalled over the weekend and then put up for sale! one stripe two stripes thick or thin you can takes yer pick..... oh i'll throw in 4 vw hub caps too and you can also collect at vanfest?.... just a thought :)

And to anyone else reading this ........................http://www.mrwhitewalls.com 8)

They will be branded partworn tyres and i hope to sell them whitewalled to customers specification for as little as £40 per unit.

Thinking of going back to stock with whitewalls myself (empi's at the moment) as I want to fill the void above the front tyre. Bus is lowered but the gap looks naff 175/55/15 at front 165/15 at the rear.
The above link is rather interesting
