My wipers switch on (both speeds) but the hole knob screws itself off instead of turning off. Is there a easy fix of is it a case of just fitting a two way switch and leave the old knob in so the washers work?
Screwed it back on tight but still unscrewed itself instead of turning off, so had to use a pair of long nose pliers.
Maybe I should remove the switch and see if it will free up a bit with electrical contact cleaner. Must admit the wipers are rarely used as its not my daily.
Which bit is actually coming loose, is it just the knob or the entire switch rotating in the dash?
If the entire switch, then the knob needs removing and the escutcheon tightening up.
If the knob only, you should be able to switch it round to the fastest wiper setting, and then twist it a little further to tighten it to the spindle. Failing that, maybe some ptfe as mentioned, or some thread lock, but I'd be worried about damaging the threads in the knob if the fit became too tight.
