been trying to figure out why my 72 xover bays windscreen wipers don't have intermittent wipe on then turns out someone have fitted a single speed wiper motor where can I get a correct motor from and how much are they ?

Afaik they don't have intermittent, on mine its on and then a bit more on only faster

I may be wrong but I don't think bays ever came with intermittent wipers, plus it's usually a relay that controls them not the motor itself.

There is a cheap mod (seen on here somewhere) you can do with a timer relay to create intermittent wipers but in doing so you loose your slower speed iirc. (As it's only a two position switch)

Yes agreed. The stock wipers were two speed.

I have only ever used high speed a couple of times during monumental downpours because its ridiculously fast.

If your wipers are slow there's something wrong and they need fixing. Start by checking the earth connection at the motor and the voltage being supplied, if low then work back down the circuit.

If the electrics are correct then check the lubrication on the mechanism not forgetting the wiper spindles themselves.

If that checks out then check the motor itself. They can be revived with a good lube of the bearings and the gears if they have dried out.
