been out today in the bus and noticed that the oil light was on very faintly but was definately on, not noticed it before. thought i maybe low on oil, but shortly after that maybe 5 minutes the petrol gauge seemed to stop working.

anyone had this or similar before i start the investigations tomorrow

Thanks

i will take a look tomorrow, i just thought they might have been to coincidental having the bus since 2008 with no problem to get 2 problems in the space of less than 5 minutes

ive been out in the pissing down rain and under investigation have found,

the oil needed topping up but not under the low mark.
no lights on dash when key turned before starting
oil light goes from faded to brighter when revved
no fuel gauge

where shall i look next

sounds like something is loose somewhere if it gets brighter .....loosen the dash pod and have a look at the wiring on the back check the connections and bulbs ..........then work your way back from switch in engine ........i had similar problem on gennie light turned out to be loose wire from dynamo to battery :msn4:

had a look and found the fuse to have blown, a 5a fuse the furthest right one. replaced fuse and all fine. fuses dont blow for a reason

so why did it blow?
