My bus seats have somewhat worn ever so slightly. What has made matters worse that while the bus sat in California for 20 years or so doing nothing. I think a family of mice moved in and started pulling out the stuffing and fluff and made a nest under one of the rear seats. Anyway, the seats have now been removed, along with all the rubber mats and I'm cleaning her out. Long term I will aim to get all the seats recovered, but I need to save up some cash first. Any suggestions as to how I get by throughout this first year of having the bus. I have seen some seats covered in duct tape, not sure if this would be a good thing. Anyone else had to deal with this before...

I'd like to confirm that no mice were found or harmed during the removal of the seats, they must have stayed in the States lol

I have seen some pretty fooked seats covered in decent thickness (vintage) t-shirts that looked pretty sweet.

Maybe you could do the same? Good luck!

I've seen a few buses using coffee sacks for seat covers, which look quite cool

I hadn't thought of that extra bonus!

Some great ideas, many thanks. Never would have thought of coffee sacks, instant caffeine fix every time I go for a drive. I had a look at the link, not bad and a good price - well not that I know anything about coffee sacks...

Thanks

a set of seat covers actually work out pretty cheap at the mo. we have a 15% off TMI interior stuff till end of march.

I was eyeing that deal. Does the eb discount make it 20% ??

Was about to ask the same!!!! :)

I agree that recovering the seats would be reasonably cheap and very easy to do. I buy some wadding from dunelm mill (£5) just to fill the covers out. Heat the covers slightly to make them pliable and use wire instead of string to pull the covers tight.

I found a place that sells coffee sacks for £1.50 each (in the Sheffield area, but I had mine shipped to me). They are really good quality, not that I know much about this sort of thing. But they look good. I called them on Monday and the sacks arrive on Wednesday. The person I spoke to asked if I could put his details up on the forum, so if you need any, feel free to call him - Mick 07830 100662
