Only just started on the seats and need some decent weather as I want to wash and reuse the horse hair, hopefully finish soon and will put some photos up when finished.

The old worn seats did have character, but they spelled really bad :( hence the need to remove them totally and put something else on.

I have stripped the front passenger bench and the rear bench back to the bare frame. Didn't realise how much skin I would lose from my knuckles in the process, I'm now wearing garden gloves.
Still have the drivers seat and the middle bench to strip back. Lungs filled with crap, lesson to be learned here in future. Anyway I have now worked out why the bus spelled of pee. I think a family of rodents once took residents in the bus, possibly when parked up for 25 years in California. Either that of someone took several reliefs in my bus during that time. I found some bedding areas under the benches. Hence why the old ratty looking/rock/n roll look has to go, it spelled to much like pee. I was going to use the old stuffing/horse hair or whatever it is, bit it is old and spent and rather smelly. I now need to get some foam to sit on the benches (padding) prior to using my coffee sacks. So form learning a bit about an engine, I'm now fully hooked into the world of upholstery, I should have paid more attention at school.
At this speed I won't be able to get my bus ready for Volks World (oh crap), but I will still turn up as I need some extra bits and bobs. Will it be right to use my camping pass with my car if my bus is not ready?

I could get lost in my bus project, in fact I know I do.
I have a lovely labrador, they say a dog is a man's best friend. I think my Bus has something to say to that.... Sorry hound "I love you too".

Once I clean the skin from the frames, I will add photos, and hopefully I will share my completed work with you soon.

We do foams if you need.

Make sure you fit something to protect your new padding from the springs.

We do a sisal spring cover or you could use rice sacks?

If you dont protect your foam it'll get destroyed from the bottom up.

Good Luck

Cheers

Alex

I used this to replace my horsehair when I changed the covers on my seats -

I would recommend it - best not to scrimp as you do end up spending a lot of time sitting on it!! ;)

I had a thin layer of wadding over the top of that as well.
