Evening All,

Looking for some help, recommendations to which exhaust to purchase for my 1699 with twin 40s. I dont want a Vintage Speed, but also cant afford the likes of Turbo Thomas or CSP python sadly, so what are my options?

Any opinions on http://www.justkampers.com/vw-t2-ba...0cc-1963-1967-vw-t2-bay-1600cc-1967-1979.html?

Also read some people have used beetle exhausts?

Any help would be awesome and looking to move quickly on this, want to drive my bus for the first time in two years.

Cheers,

J

I've noticed coolair do a mild steel sidewinder exhaust for an early bay.

I don't know what it's like or what it sounds like but it could be another option.

Thanks, not sure being Empi but like the design

I used to have a Bluebird exhaust on my Split which was the same design as the JK one. It was a cracking exhaust however I never went down the same route for my current bay due to clearance issues.

The back box sits quite low and my drive has quite a steep incline so it caught on the bottom meaning I couldn't reverse in. As I own a locking Gene Berg shifter I always want to reverse up to something as it makes it harder for some one to lift the front end and tow away. This style of exhaust was really popular before VS have taken the market. Ask Mike (Clem) as he has one on his Westy.

I used to run a Kingfisher Customs stainless exhaust on my old bay like the one below. Again this was a great exhaust but only running a 1600cc but shouldn't be a problem for your set up.

Many thanks. Bluebird dont seem to do T2 exhausts any more, though as you say JK one is similar. Ground clearance may be an issue for me though :/ Rather stick with 4 into 1 kinda thing but thanks for the help, really appreciated ;)

I've still got that unused blue bird Jamie, just cut it and turn the flange round about. I did the same to my mates bus. Works a treat
