Re-installing air box controls and ducting

Hi,

Before I put the dash top back in my bus I need to re-install all the plastic ducting and also re-connect the front panel/flap control rods.

Q1: Does anybody have a full diagram showing how it all plumbs together (I found the following on VW Heritage site)?

Q2: The air box flap control rods I have, are different to those pictured below (as mine don't have the middle section as shown in the picture) but mine are not straight and do have an angle to them. The question is, should they angle outwards from the centre i.e. the rod for the left flap angles out towards the left, and the rod for the right flap angles out towards the right? Does that make sense?

On my '68 & '69 the front fresh air flap rods are left for the left one and right for the right one. Basically the retaining spring clips are on the outside.
