Hi Does anyone know where i can get a replacement engine bay seal from for my 69 dormy from? I have the one for the rear valance but need the one for around the front (tinwear) of the engine? I've looked at Heritage etc but can only find them for 72 onwards!! Cheers in advance :D

Hi, I'm going to be refitting my engine into my 69 dormy next week and I've managed to lose the top left and two lower engine to gearbox mounting bolts, if I remember correctly one is a stud? and the other two were bolts? Can't find a diagram anywhere showing what bolts/studs go where, any help...

The hinges are simply held on by nuts and bolts through the roof skin, i used stainless allen key bolts and stiff nuts. The rubber toggles are an after market fit and the van never came with them so how you fit them is up to you, the original roof hold down straps are inside at each end.

Dont remember the wood strips!! was a while ago that I did this mind...Pics? Might jog my memory! :D

The extruded strips go on the outside of the canvas around the edge of the inner roof, make sure you double over the canvas under the strips for strength. I replaced the nuts and bolts with brass replacements (maybe M3s?). I also used a dollop of silicon in each hole prior to putting the bolt in...

Hi Could anyone recommend somewhere where I could get my engine rebuilt in the west mids? The end float play is out of limits giving me a big oil leak(1.7mm) it's obviously trashed the flywheel seal so it's probably time for a fatter bearing. Cheers Wayne

The press stud loops come attached to the canvas.

I replaced mine about 4 years years ago, its not the easiest job in the world mind!! I got mine from the camper shop in Upton on Severn and its been great since, no leaks and it wipes clean, the stripes are wider than the original but its pretty much the same as the original material!

I would go back to proud and ask them the same question, especially if it was considerably expensive! be interested to know what they say?

Hi All, Just had a top weekend at DATC with earlybay, unfortunately had a bit of a brown trousers experience 20 miles out when the brakes failed, pedal went all the way to the floor with no effect! after rapidly pumping the pedal i got a small amount of braking but once i'd released the pedal...

Where did you get the canvas from? the original canvas (and the replacement i fitted) has press stud loops sewn into the canvas.
