    Servo... connector

i cant seem to find inlet manifolds with the vacuum pipe fitted JK and VW heritage dont seem to have them listed unless they are special order items. You're right about the garden hose collapsing under vacuum. The stuff i used is so thick and hard its nearly like plastic. i had to use a hot cup...

glad u got it sorted. i remember the same happened to a beetle of mine while driving thru france. i was having to change into second gear to go up gentle slopes, i pulled over into the layby and checked the points.. it was one of the few things i could do with my glove box tool kit... reset the...

    Servo... connector

you can buy genuine servo hose for £30 a meter or use garden hose like i did. i did use genuine hose for the hot engine bay end but all the underneath hose i used correct diameter reinforced garden hose. that saved me about £90. at the end of the day its only got air going thru it. mine works...

last night i bled the brakes...on my own. Jesus, what a carry on. i found a gunson easy bleed under a pile of sawdust and grinding slag. cleaned it all up and went for it. at this point its worth reading the instructions that were covered in brake fluid...no i just hooked it up using the full...

oh sweet. engine runs like a beaut now. it was an induction leak!!!! i pinched off the servo vacume hose by the carb and the engine ran smooth all of a sudden... now the hose costs £30 a meter. so ive used garden hose as it costs f@@k all and works a treat. i also replaces the servo non return...

i love this shot of the bus. she is still not running right due to the carb... i have set the timing to 30 deg btdc when running at 3000rpm thats total advance on the 009. she still bangs a bit with after fire and i cant adjust the idle to less than 1500rpm without her dying. so i keep tweeking...

After paint the engine went back in. i used some stud bar to make guide rods. much better than just trying to line it up with a jack and a few poxy bolts. try it nex time it really does work a treat. of course i still used the jack but it made life so much easier.

of course i had already put the £16 oil seal and "O" ring in place.. try and check the shim pack with that in. no chance. so i had to get the seal out without damaging it.. easy does it, but i got it out without chewing it up. guess what. there was only 2 shims in and not the min\max 3 shims...

while the engine was out i put on the old intake manifold with the servo vacume pipe as i could not get the bits needed to run without a servo. ie the fluid bottle had the nozzles too far apart and i could not find one that fit.. power brakes it is then..[/photobucket]

Faulty Coil? - No a Senior moment!!!!!

there are a number of things that can cause a flat spot.. when did this problem start? its almost certainly is not a problem with the coil. could be a blocked air filter, your points might need adjusting or its going to be a blocked jet in ur carb. Some times a re built carb won't fix an old...
