    Birth certificate

Be aware that if you are trying to use a birth certificate to register a vehicle DVLA are no longer accepting proof of age letters like the birth certificate that’s have a printed signature, it had to be a persons signature and not copied so letters from owners clubs are the only proof of ID...

    Bushes???

Might be worth looking at the Powerflex catalogue https://powerflexstore.co.uk/?, I think the rear ARB's are made by Empi but they might have something of the right diameter etc

    Steering box, parts or replacement

All the parts apart from the worms are currently available, people have carried out their own steering rack conversion, Darius & Mycha on this forum for 2 I know of, its a case of finding a suitable centre fed rack, you simply cant use any rack with short tie rod ends as it creates bump steer...

    Steering box, parts or replacement

Just so theres no confusion the 'new' box that Sparky has is a late bay box and only available in LHD, the chassis still needs modifying but not as much as fitting an original Late Bay Box, we run one on the Sunroof Deluxe and in fact are on our second one, they need adjustment straight out of...

    Newbie

My only concern is he can start in 2 weeks, most VW & classic car restorers I know are flat out and not taking anymore work for the rest of this year but then things do get cancelled. Out of interest what is the extent of the welding needed?

    Steering box, parts or replacement

They are made by BBT but as traders we are finding that parts suppliers are not holding stock unless they have to, this was Machine 7's downfall, taking orders & peoples money telling people things were in stock and then the next day emailing to say that they hadn't got stock, at least Coolair...

    Steering box, parts or replacement

We had RHD & LHD worms made a few years ago, they were good but not perfect, something changes on the spriral to change the stiffness at the centrepoint of the box and they did not spot it and as I said the worms from a European manufacturer are even worse where they get looser in the middle...

    Steering box, parts or replacement

They don't list changing the worm though and for that cost I would expect the worm to be changed, they are aware of the issues with the remade worms as I've had conversations with Rick about them.

    Bumper mounts?

They look like the side plates for the US towbar, its a tubular bar with a swan neck towball mounted to it, towbar unbolts out of the middle and often come available without the end plates as they double as the bumper brackets. If you want to get rid of them let me know as we occasionally get...

    Steering box, parts or replacement

as far as I’m aware no one is making RHD worms not even N2 engineering, the LHD worms made by a supplier in Europe are terrible and work opposite to how they should work. We make the pegs and they are case hardened as they should be as again we’ve had issues with the ones supplied from Europe.

Raise lowered van, but no adjustment left

Spot on thats why using dropped spindles helps by taking the initial drop on the spindle first (without losing suspension comfort) and then fine tuning it with the adjusters on the beam gives you a much better ride than a beam with adjusters only.

Raise lowered van, but no adjustment left

Not sure why you think the ride will be too stiff as it should now be set how the factory set the beams up from new, the arms were never parallel as the top arms were always preloaded to make the suspension work.

Raise lowered van, but no adjustment left

Thats how we set all of ours and it should stiffen the ride up as you are preloading the arms, as long as you haven't moved the bottom adjuster it should work but without seeing the beam and the bus itself its hard to tell, have you tried dropping it onto its wheels?. We always take measurements...

    Slow starting

Is it a still on the original carb with automatic choke? If it is are you allowing the choke to engage before starting the engine?, in order to do this you need to turn the ignition on, 2 warning lights on your dash, press the throttle pedal down to release the choke mechanism and then release...
