Are there any good contacts for parts in France? Van was damaged by hailstones and I need lights/mirrors to get it road worthy? I've found Sirial Kombi but they are SE and I'm in Bordeaux.

Hi,
You have a store in Bordeaux, Bugs Are Us : http://www.bugs-are-us.net/
If you need NOS parts or good used parts (always better than ****** new chienes stuff), you can get in contact with Sapito Rafuchas on Facebook.
When travelling in France, you can use Save my VW trip including most good adresses and a good community ready to help.

thank you for that, oddly someone gave me the name today and I visited. Classey set-up with some beautiful vehicles. They don't carry many parts since they are mainly a body shop. Sadly they wouldn't accept a card payment for wing mirrors and wanted cash. I had to get back to St Andre de Cubzac to get the windscreen replaced by Mondial Pare-Brise. They included the top tint and glued in mirror glass which i wasn't expecting, well pleased. With the van road worthy will now bring it back to UK for repair, panels dented on three sides. Amazingly the PV on the roof survived, no loss of power at all.

Hope everyone was unscathed as the van can always be fixed. Those look like some rather large muthers of hail stones, the foliage seems to have taken a proper battering too. Luckily you had a laminated screen as a toughened one would have been shredded by that amount of impacts.

Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,more like rocks.:)

Travelling on my own, and yes, I was fine protected by those good old PV panels and a Westy fibre glass covering. It was clearly going to rain so I covered as much as I could and jumped inside. A flash and a crash, a minute later all hell let loose. I got a new windscreen and bodged up the lights/mirrors so everything works and will bring the van back to the UK for repair.
