    Battery

...one point to consider is that your battery leads can reach the battery terminals. Some batteries have +ve and -ve terminals reversed and this can makes a big difference to how the battery fits. (you can't just turn the battery around as the clamps will be inaccessible between battery and...

    Dash Cam

I recently bought a Transcend dashcam (for daily). Wasn't the cheapest, but I wanted to avoid wasting time with crappy Chinese rubbish. Seems good, you install and forget about it, it comes on/off with ignition/cigarette lighter, and video quality is fine in daylight and nightime. Its worth...

    Belly pans

Its probably better to buy one without pans, given the choice - so you can see the condition underneath. You can always fit pans later, or paint...

If you want to visit Paris in your classic vehicle......

Won't really effect the French much, they tend to drive French cars, and the built in obsolescence will finish the car off long before it reaches it's 10th birthday....

    Replace rear brake piston

both shoes are tensioned together with springs - so you have to take both off, and it's a good idea to clean and grease all the moving parts, especially the star adjusters Suggest you take a photo of the whole hub before pulling off the shoes/springs/handbrake lever It's not a difficult job...

Front drums getting too hot - smoking brakes

Thanks Moseley, I'll replace the cylinder, I was just struggling to understand how a piston jammed closed would cause binding. When it does move it moves freely, so it's more like a mechanical defect stopping it from opening, rather than the piston being stiff and jamming open. Maybe it behaves...

Front drums getting too hot - smoking brakes

I have read Markevo30 posting on hot rear drums - I guess I have same problem - but would appreciate a second opinion before I rip the brakes apart... Symptom was burning smell in cab - as just installed new radio underdash wiring was first suspect - but then son noticed smoke outside and it...

    UK/Scotland trip

    Not sure how accurate or up to date - (Cox's Aircooled actaully in the Atlantic seems unlikely) , but could be a good starting point... https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?msa=0&mid=1hZWW78xRr_W3f0eO9D2uHkZSpEY" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

    Advise from the pros please

When I bought mine, I drove off and left the handbrake on (not my proudest moment), and was thinking god I know buses will be slow - but this slow, really, what have I bought ! It was only when I pulled into a garage to get some petrol and a couple of spilt drips sizzled off the rear hubcap I...

    Advise from the pros please

...Not a pro either - but for what it's worth I bought my bus in much the same situation as you are in - and I bought a right hand drive dormobile like this one, and love it, and if I was to do it again would go for a rust free import. OK you're unlikely to find a RHD dormo (which in my humble...

    Wanted: Dormobile Hammock Frame

....if you buy just one be warned the left and right bed are totally different to each other, so be careful, you don't want to end up with two the same. also - if you end up needing new covers, they're also "handed", and if you buy from "Proud to Pop" (I did) - they are made of a plasticy...

    Aerial Advice ?

The original aerial that came with bus didn't completely fold down, so even when fully retracted still stuck up about 6 inches, which meant eventually it got broken off when the winter cover was put on... Does anyone know of an aerial that will fit in same hole, that will fully retract, or be...
