But of advice please. I need to replace the rear brake piston off side. Do I need to dismantle the entire shoe set up or can I just take off one shoe. Cheers

both shoes are tensioned together with springs - so you have to take both off, and it's a good idea to clean and grease all the moving parts, especially the star adjusters

Suggest you take a photo of the whole hub before pulling off the shoes/springs/handbrake lever

It's not a difficult job, the hardest bit will probably be undoing rusted bolts and hoses, and bleeding the brakes afterwards.

for the cost of the bits and extra work, you may as well refurb the whole assembly

copper grease the adjustable bits and your good to go for another few years

Trust me shortcuts end up in more work!

Snapped brake line :? Rusted together. New one made  off to get 46mm socket tomorrow so I can strip the lot down. Every time I start a job something stops it dead.

You don't need to take the hub apart to change the brake components.

I normally hook the springs through the holes on both shoes then fit one side in the adjuster and piston (normally LHS) hook in the bottom of the other shoe and then pull the top into place. If that makes sense....
