    Wheeler Dealers

Yeah Ozzie it's a shame. After hearing this I'm interested to know if anyone knows what happens when they sell the car; I'm guessing now that bit must be faked aswell. And like you say, what happens to the cars afterwards? Maybe they were already sold before any work began?

    Wheeler Dealers

Wheeler Dealers! Was my favourite car programme years back - More for the classic cars and Ed''s mechanical skills than Mike Brewers banter; Think I filled my old skybox with all the series at the time from Discovery channel and old ones on Dave? - Still like the Blue bug episode from way back...

    ignition barrel replacement

Nice! Some great detail and pictures there. Had a look at the other articles on the same site - especially liked the bed layout; Thought the 1 person seat converting to a 2 person seat was genius!

No worries! You've now got me thinking about a tracker!

    Need a little help wiring

Not familiar with the rear layout/'above engine bay' on a Devon, but on a microbus there is a plastic/rubber drain(?) plug in the rear spare wheel well. If you remove it, there's a hole into the engine bay. Might work?

    Pushrod tubes

Apologies for the quick thread hijack... Hey Sparky - Are them rocker covers CSP ones? If so, what do you reckon to them? I've got some Empi bolt on's that I'm thinking of changing but read a few mixed opinions on the CSP's (I.e. needs specific o ring gaskets? And design of channel changed on...

    Pushrod tubes

Yeah, agree with all the above; Got some quality fast Fab push rod tubes from RJ VolksPerformance last year.

    New wiring loom

Will 2nd this - Iain spent the day removing the old loom & fitting a New one (with a couple of extra bits for 12v socket etc, New style blade fuses/box) to my Bay a few years back & did a cracking job considering it wasn't that warm outside in October/November, & van was on the street. New loom...

    Wiring loom recommendations

Yep - Iain fitted a new loom for me aswell. Top job!

    Rewire needed....

For the loom I'd recommend Iain the Air-cooled electrician - did a great job replacing my old loom. He usually advertises in Hayburner mag. You mentioned your exhaust was a vintage speed sports & your JK now sounds better. What size engine do you have?

    Oil leak located

If you get stuck maybe you could try Oddball Customs? I'm sure they are in the Gloucester/Tewkesbury area?

    Simple electrical question.

Hi, Maybe check the actual bulbs? On my US Bay, swapped the original ones once for some replacement ones & when using the hazards/indicators it caused the fuse & eventually the relay to pop. Think problem was they were '"drawing" more current. Sounds like something similar on your fuse issue.

    Metal deluxe belt line clips?

Got some metal ones from Cool air - pretty pricey if you need 55 of them! Haven't used them yet so no comment on the quality...

Replacing Alternator without removing 36mm fan nut?

Thanks 67Westy/Monty. Woah! Never thought about actually undoing the studs that secure the alternator stand. Good idea! That would be much easier to work with. So in theory, with the metal alternator strap loosened & the backing plate nuts removed, if I then removed the stand & studs,the...

Replacing Alternator without removing 36mm fan nut?

Evening, Some background... Driving home the other night noticed my generator light dimly lit. Was worse with wipers going. Then yesterday bus started with sharp wine/screech noise from engine bay. G light still dim. Checked it over once it was running but no other sounds. Then last night start...

    exhaust recommendations

Running 2110 with twin 44's. Had merged header with phatboy exhaust. Really loud. Swapped for vintage speed superflow about 4/5 years ago. Looked great. First year or so was fine, then did a few long motorway trips in the space of a week (approx 1500 miles) and after that it sounded quite loud...

    Rolling road North East area

Hi Mike, Got my twin carbs rebuilt & tuned down in Middlesborough by Darren at DC's Hotrod & Race Shop. He didn't have a rolling road, but knows his stuff. He used to drag race American muscle cars and bugs. If you definitely want a rolling road then there's a company called Evotune based in...

    Do fuel pumps leak?

Hi, The diaphragm inside the pump can fail causing petrol to leak into the case. If you unbolt the pump (clamp off both fuel lines first) you could test it out of the engine - no fuel should be leaking from the bottom of it where the fuel pump push rod engages with it. Check out the post at...

    Volksworld Show 2019

On a similar theme I read in this month's volksworld about last year's Brighton Breeze being quieter than usual - I found this really surprising as last time I was there a couple of years back, the weather was awful on the morning when it totally lashed it down (then eventually sunny on the...
