Rolling road North East area

I need to get to a rolling road to get my new twin carbs set up properly. The one I was going to take it to in Newcastle, Orange Grove garage, Forest Hall, is out of action for 6-8 weeks.

Can anyone recommend another ? [emoji851]

Hi Mike,
Got my twin carbs rebuilt & tuned down in Middlesborough by Darren at DC's Hotrod & Race Shop. He didn't have a rolling road, but knows his stuff. He used to drag race American muscle cars and bugs.

If you definitely want a rolling road then there's a company called Evotune based in Langley Moor. I've never used them though.

I was going to suggest either Daz or the Bogg Brothers. They have a great reputation and IIRC, it is still the dad who does the vintage stuff.

If the Early Bayers are willing to travel a bit, there’s the only place i recommend with my eyes closed; AB Garage in Hawarden, near Airbus

Adrian is an old school bloke that knows his way around carbs and ACVW’s, so no nonsense of checking emissions as such, but properly tuning with an AFR gauge which is the best way to tune our engines
He will tune the engine to the right AFR and you won’t feel hesitations when driving(common when tuning it like a water cooled which can be tuned closer to stoich) and your engine is guaranteed to run cooler

Cor, I’ve not heard term stoichiometric since college :shock: :lol: But I agree 10000% having an engine tuned AFR is the best way.

Finally got my carbs sorted and tuned properly at AB garage near Chester. Adrian is a top bloke who knows his stuff and put correct jets in the carbs. The engine is now running sweetly and someone actually commented at a campsite this weekend, that the engine is ‘purring’. [emoji38][emoji38]
Abel came along and chatted to me while Adrian was putting Monty on the rolling road. What great customer service. [emoji41]

Would definitely recommend this garage if you want your carbs sorting out properly. [emoji851][emoji851][emoji1690][emoji1690]
