Ignition wiring - I think I've missed summat

Hi All Had to take apart the ignition lock to check code (another story in General). Any how I went to connect back up the switch which has 4 wires Black, Red, Red plus Black and Brown There was an 'empty' 2 terminal connector for the solid Black and solid Red with matching colours the other...

    Key curtting.

Ok - its out.. spoke in the blanked out hole was the trick then a hooked pick in place of the key (cos I have none) to jiggle out the barrel. No need to remove the 'hatch' on this model it seems. In retrospect could probably have done it in situ. pretty sure the grub screw could have been left...

    Key curtting.

Hi, Made some progress with eth igition barrel tomight. Its out of the van in its housing but doesn;t look quite lik e the one described in the 'Spooky' pages which i believe is earlier. To release the barrel it looks like you shove a rod ( I used an old bicycle spoke) down an easily...

    Danbury pop-top seal

Hi yes 266-BLK looks about right. I wonder how effective it is with the 'cushion' part on the inside of the roof (compared with those which have the cushion compressed by the roof edge. However on the Danbury I think you would easily block the gutters with second sort, probably..

Advice Please - Does the bottom end need rebuidling

End float probably 'feels' worse than it is. even 1mm is quite a clunk (3mm is 30 x the recommended..) even so for peace of mind you probably need to get it looked at - maybe flywheelhas worked loose. Good luck..

    what engine size?

You're right. A look at the engine forum of thesamba.com is a bit bewildering and lots of heated debates.. I guess in US there is the benefit of cheaper parts and maybe easier access to machine shops hence lots of big bore mayhem. For a 1776 you will need the casing and heads machine to fit...
