    Steering problem

Off to Glampfest in Yorkshire on Friday so hopefully will get a better idea of how the steering is...

    Electrical sockets

I have fitted an EHU under the van which feeds an ECB in a cupboard, this feeds 2 x 240v sockets and a trickle charger for the leisure battery. Obviously the 240 sockets only work when connected to mains. Leisure battery feeds internal 12v LED lights water pump and USB sockets.

    Rear torsion bar end caps

Whilst checking my bus over today noticed that both rear torsion bar end caps have rusted through. The available replacements look a bit flimsy, anyone recommend replacements?

    Steering problem

Did a pub stop over near Great Yarmouth last week. On the way back the wind was quite high and the bus was all over the road. Had the tracking done today and found out it was 2 x the limit toe in. Drove the bus around today and already seems better, have to wait for another windy day to see...

    Accelerator cable replacement advice please

You could tape a length of wire to the carb end of the cable, pull enough of the cable back through at the hook end then tape the new wire to that end. In reality though, the new cable should be able to be threaded through the conduit on its own if there is no obstruction.

    Sliding door hinge

Could have got it cheaper on eBay, but was worried about the quality. Must admit I didn't look at Schofields.

    Brake upgrade

Yes they come with adaptors to fit the late bay hubs.

    Sliding door hinge

New roller fitted. At £36 odd quid not cheap. Door running smoothly again though.

    Brake upgrade

I fitted these from Fosseway, 4-pots much better than the old late bay brakes fitted by the previous owner. You do need 15" wheels though.

    Sliding door hinge

Having fixed my bus starting problem I thought I would delve into the issue the sliding door has, it has been getting more and more difficult to shut easily. so took the cover of the slide and found the metal wheel which runs on the slide has split into two parts. Waiting for a new one from JK...

    Hot Start Relay

Not touched the bus since I fitted the "Hot Start Relay" over 2 weeks ago. Bus started right away (once the fuel pump primed the carbs) without depressing the clutch pedal. So it looks like this has resolved the starting problems.

    Hot Start Relay

Hi. Yes my mistake, I meant pull the fuse not the relay. Right up until my previous battery died, I could leave the bus for over a month and it would still start ok. I do have an electric fuel pump and wait until I can hear the clicking settle down. I know using the fuse as an anti-theft...

    Hot Start Relay

Been having an issue ever since I fitted a new starter battery end of last year. If I leave the van alone for over a week, I have difficulty starting (I know I should start it more frequently). Alternator is kicking out over 14v and the battery drops to 12.1v, If I don't depress the clutch...

    Your interiors.

Some pics of our interior, bought from SJS Southport. Fitted around 2013 (I think). Made the table myself out of oak flooring left overs, leg from JK.

    Fuel in the oil sump

After the seasons festivities and crap weather, finally got round to checking oil level and taking the bus for a nice long drive to make sure engine got up to temp. Home again and rechecked oil. No sign of fuel, so fingers crossed that the issue has been resolved... Thanks for all the advice.

    Spare wheel

Standard steel wheels are 14 inch and I have after market callipers on the front so 14 inchers won't fit.

    Spare wheel

Currently I don't carry a spare wheel in my 71 Dormmy, just a can of tyre inflation stuff. I am thinking of doing a extended trip round Europe later this year and kind of think I need a proper spare wheel. Currently have SSP GT 5 spoke alloys fitted, 5.5x15", 5x112 PCD , ET20. Don't want to buy...

    Fuel in the oil sump

Thanks ozziedog, I forgot to add that I did set the float height to 8mm measured with my new fangled digital calliper. Also did check to see if the needle valves had any crud in them, unfortunately not. Need to take it on a test drive now and hope it doesn't happen again. Looking into fitting...
