Fuel Leaking from pump

Rebuilt fuel pump a few weeks ago, diaphram split, now got a leak from the bolt on top to replace the filter. There is a metal washer between bolt and pump body and there was the remnants of a rubber washer when I took it apart, but nothing in the repair kit to replace! Any ideas where I could source one from or any other ideas on how to stop fuel leaking out the top of the pump. Hoping to make it to Stanford Hall in it next Sunday.

RTV GASKET SEALER if you have a leak but fibre washer or a Dowty washer is the best (Dowty seals, also called bonded seals, are a washer kind of seal used to tighten the connection around screws and bolts. They are typically made of both a metal and an elastomer material.)

Might have to try Earlybay1's idea with the sealant or Dowty washer. Tried fibre washer......still leaking. Tried 1 fibre and 1 metal......leaked. tried 2 fibre either side of metal washer..........still leaked.

I notice you have an alternator fitted. Was the fuel pump pushrod changed when the dynamo was replaced? I believe the dynamo fuel rod is 10mm longer which could cause fuel to leak amongst other things.

Yes it was by the previous owner. I've had it 3 years now, first problem with it.
Hoping to get some time tomorrow to look at it.

The pushrod used is determined by the pump used, whether there's a generator or alternator fitted
has nothing to do with it. Using the incorrect pushrod will either result in no pumping action at all
or else severe mechanical destruction of parts. One sometimes uses a differently-constructed pump
depending on gen or alt simply to afford ease of removing/installing the pump. I've yet to encounter
a fuel pump that could not be used with either a gen or alt in place.

Any idea where to get fibre washer from that will fit pump? I have tried numerous places, car parts shops, builders merchants, plumbing centres. Nothing small enough!! You don't get one in a rebuild kit, looked at all of them. Any help would be great. Really annoying that a F..king washer is stopping me from enjoying my Bus.

You’ll be lucky to get fibre washers at any electrical wholesalers, better bet would be a small hardware shop.

No, they didn't. Had to buy a new pump! Looking to buy another Pierburg and rebuild my old one with bits from both.
