My accelerator cable has snapped at the carb end. Any advice on replacement please. I read that it's a good idea to entwine the new with old cable with duct tape and pull through after snipping off the hooked end at the pedal linkage. Has anyone tried this as there is so little cable at the pedal linkage end before it enters the conduit on my 71 bay. Many thanks.

You could tape a length of wire to the carb end of the cable, pull enough of the cable back through at the hook end then tape the new wire to that end. In reality though, the new cable should be able to be threaded through the conduit on its own if there is no obstruction.
