    Wanted - Automatic Gearbox

auto's wern't an option on earlies they only came on t4 engined vans, you may find one on a crossover if it has a t4 engine but it will be the vacumn 003 box and your 77 would have an 010.

    Revealing OG paint

depends on the quality of the respray and how hard the paint was they used, i had a few areas in primer and rattle can which i wanted to see what was under, i got it off with a scotch pad with thinners on, i've heard oven cleaner works too, to be honest you'll have to try an area that's...

I'm only putting the feellers out just incase anyone has what i'm after as i need to be quite specific and i'm not in a rush. Must be a 1968 van as i want one the same age as me. Im a bit confused

as said, it's more than likely a sunroof bus with a late roof, the front hinge was the only option on an early, that roof has been retro fitted - anything is possible the roof itself is the same on all bays just depends on your fabrication skills.

Anyone know any history of my bus?

V888 form and £5 gets you a list of all previous owners - good if your bus has always been uk registerd - nt much point if it came from the u.s.

    What are these???

yes plenty of people who don't understand the system will do this, particularly if an aftermarket airfilter has been fitted and the pipe isn't used - what should happen if a different airfilter (such as pancake ones on twin carbs etc) is a hole needs to be drilled into the top and the pipe fed...

    What are these???

that's exactly what they are, they are to help the fuel vapours condense and be sent as vapour into the air intake, you must have all the breather system working correctly for safety and also to stop petrol smells, the system is not designed to be closed and should be able to breathe so as to...

Winter use -demister and heating etc?

you could fit a propex and just pipe it into the totem, if you have no exchangers then block the totem off under the belly pan so it only has a short run, lovely and toasty!

    All reds legal

it is actually a grey area, the law states that lighting can be how it was "when manufactured" if you can prove this was the case then you could convince the tester if he had the ride that morning and was in a good mood, this could prove difficult with a vw though but they pass american cars...
