    Random power loss (Battery related)

Right OK, cheers for the replies. I'll have a search on how to do it. Any ideas why disconnecting/reconnecting the battery makes it work? If it is the switch?

    Random power loss (Battery related)

Hi folks, I have a problem with my van where it will randomly not start. No power, nothing. I have to disconnect battery and then reconnect it, and it will fire up lovely. I've checked the battery, it's had a good charge and is fairly new and efficient. Just wondering if there is anything...

    Loose fuel inlet (lucky escape)

Hi folks, had a very lucky escape whilst doing 60mph on a motorway, van running sweet but suddenly smelled petrol and immediately pulled over to the hard shoulder just as the van died. Opened the back carefully (no smoke and greeted with petrol all over the engine because the fuel line had come...

    Replacement caliper

Ok update, can't get pics at mo, but they can't be origianal calipers. Garage says that they have two bleep nipples and the line goes in the back centre. They seem to think that the ones need are the same as in the link below, which are for 1973 - 1979 van...

Hi, my '71 van needs a new front right caliper, it's at a local garage and they say the faulty caliper has had it. They have has two calipers sent to them and both have been wrong, just wondering if anyone has link or part number to one that would be correct? Cheers. General Googling has...

    Valve issue

Thanks for the replies much appreciated. Checked valves gaps again this morning and got them spot on, changed leads and plugs, re done timing and set carb up. Van runs ok but lacks power in third, but she runs much better and sounds good. Just hope adjusting carb will help with power. I did...

    Valve issue

Will do. Just to clarify, it happened after I set valve gaps, I must have forgot to tighten it (arggg!). I took it for a very short drive and then rechecked as it felt rough, that's when I noticed a bolt in the cover and the loose pushrod. Re done timing and points but van feels like it's...

Thanks Ozziedog, i managed to get it back in by loosing the rocker, screw went in ok and set all gaps on the valves. Van still running rough though, timing/point OK, not checked plugs yet.

    Seatbelt for childseats

Hi, I had a quick search and couldn't find that much info. Need to fit a carseat (daughter is 18 months) either in front rear facing or on the rock and roll bed in the back, rear or forward. The stock seatbelts are not long enough and just lapbelts in the back. Do I need to fit one of these...

    Fuel line change

So, managed to do it. All pretty straightforward, although i decided to drain the tank and lost quite a bit of petrol, (must be quicker next time!), and found the fuel line clamps under the bus a bit awkward to get to but all changed and the van starts!
