You cannot guess what size shims you need. You need to measure and measure accurately. If the engine is going in a van then i would not set the endfloat any less than 6/7 thou due to extra load that the engine is being put under. Regards...Steve :D

Hi Mike, Yes mate, your 1300 block is fine for 1600cc pistons/pots and heads. Steve :D

You will have to use a dipstick adapter, which will require the rear engine tin to be modified(easy job) and also the oil pressure sender lug will have to be drilled and tapped unless you use the variant oil cooler which will require the fanshroud to be modified to clear the pressure...
