Engine number Question 1300cc??

Just started working on my 1969 R/H drive Devon poptop ( spend all its life in the uk), I've had it a couple of years but only driven it a couple of times and it went into storage owing to house move/renovation.
I hauled the engine out over christmas and cleaned the crud off to get to the engine number and found the engine number is E00156##, having looked at the various databases they indicate a 1300cc engine is that right ??? I am guessing the original engine was swapped at some time, engine number entry on log book is blank.
Reading various threads on the forum it looks like the barrels can be swapped around, I am going to service the engine and measure the barrel bores to see what size they are whilst the body is away being welded, I cant imagine they would still be 1300cc but is this block ok to fit 1600 barrels and heads if they need replacing??? providing the main block is sound.

Yes mate, your 1300 block is fine for 1600cc pistons/pots and heads.
