    fuel sender repair

    i have managed with a little soldering to get the sender to work at 2ohms full and 80 empty but when i conect to fuel gauge it just goes to full with sender in any position full or empty.

    hi all i have friend who's fuel sender is kaput, is there any way to repair them, i have contact through the thin wires but where the wire solders to the copper looking piece there appears to be no connection to the main metal body of the sender is there a fix?

    its the part that is inside the door, the inner handle connects to it via a long rod, and the outer handle slots into it. and is bolted to door skin. the catch is held in place by 2 large head phillips screws , cant really describe it any better than that.

    my relay was i think £4, i have wired my pump through my oil pressure switch so if the engine cuts out the pump stops.

    type 4 36/40 manifolds

    ive been using the 32/34 pdsit on my type 4 these as iam sure you know have air bypass etc, they are more complicated to set up than any other carb system i have ever used. if these 36/40 are in good order they should be fairly simple to set, i hope!
