A second hand stainless steel back box arrived. The tailpipe was in a rather sorry state. So, armed with some rags, kitchen aluminium foil, T cut and a kitchen stainless steel spray cleaner I attacked it for 2 hours. Like new :mrgreen:

All fuses under dash checked and are fine. I see two power leads that leave the battery and go through towards the cabin. I am now presuming the answer lies at the other end of those cables. I have stripped the seats out the back of the van but the cables do not appear to come into the cabin...

Just got back home on the back of an AA truck. Van just went electrically dead (running a steady 55mph) and I had to pull over on a verge. Everything is dead as if the battery was disconnected. I have now tested the battery on a multimeter and it's showing 13 volts. I disconnected the earth...

Do you think it would pass an MOT with the slightly wider track and no arch mods? Or is that a a case of it's not technically legal but highly unlikely to get noticed? ;) I may as well buy 4 wheels for the later smaller stud pattern and get the rear drums(?) from the same era. I can then sell...
