    Fuel Pump not working

Bought a similar one from VWHeritage. They also stock a service kit containing a new diaphragm if memory serves. Fitted it and all seems well so far.

    Carrying bicycles on a westie

I recommend the Thule tow bar bike racks as well. got a two bike carrier which I used to use on the back of my T25 Atlantic. Using it on the Bay now. Has a neat feature that allows you to tilt the rack with the bikes still fitted so that you can open the rear hatch without having to take off the...

    Camping in Scandinavia

We don't have a dog so can't comment other than I'm sure we have seen some on some camp sites. If you go to the visitdenmark website you can get details on all the campsites. Alcohol costs more than the Uk but not a big difference. Usually take some ales with us so not an issue.

    Camping in Scandinavia

DFDS ferry booked for next August. Prices up a bit this year. Return trip Harwich -Esbjerg, posh cabin going, breakfast both ways, two people. About £750. Ferry does seem busier each time we go, all the Scandi crime on the telly making it a more popular destination maybe!

    door seal question

Same here, new seals all round. Both doors are proud. Does look a bit naff from certain angles and doesn't seem to be any different over time. Bus was finished about 8 months ago and the doors don't need any adjustment yet. Has anyone actually had the experience of new seals 'bedding in'...

    JK steering box

Had read somewhere that if the box is filled with grease (mine looked like general 'yellow' grease) the moving parts can create a space around it and the important bits end up moving in a grease void, if you see what I mean. Thought that if it had some oil in this would move and fill any void...

    JK steering box

Fitted one to my 69 camper. Big improvement in straight line ability and removed a lot of slack. Interestingly the delivery came from Bajabug I think it was. Delivered with usual JK speed and efficiency. Fitted about 6 months ago and still fine. Small point to note is that it came filled with...

New Posh Heritage pump fitted hopefully with the pipes fitted the right way round! Two gaskets under the Bakelite. First time order from VWHeritage, 5% discount and fast free delivery, excellent! Engine is a brand new twin port from VWHeritage. Suggest you guys fit your E10 compatible pump in...

    Oil smells of petrol.

Thanks all. Spent two weeks driving round France, smell started shortly after our return so sounds like eco b***cks fuel has knackered the repro pump. Ordered the posh fuel pump from VWHeritage and some new oil. Says the pump is suitable for E10 fuel so fingers crossed. Will let you know how...

Thanks chaps for all your help. Using the van for my daughters wedding tomorrow so looks like I'm going to be getting the spanners out next weekend! Fingers crossed the van doesn't disgrace itself on the way to the church! Cheers :D

    Oil smells of petrol.

Thanks. Sounds like it is the pump (which is new with the engine). Assuming this is the culprit, where's the best place to get a decent one, JK or VWHeritage? Cheers.

    Oil smells of petrol.

Thanks for the info Bob. The engine is new, not recon, only done about 2000 miles, which means I'm really worried now! Thanks again for the info. Cheers, Phil.

Checking the oil and it smells of petrol. Is that normal or should I be worried? Anybody know if this means something's not right? Cheers.

Thanks everyone. I'll check the age of the hoses and renew any old ones and check for play in the wheel bearing.
