Where should we go 4, welding and MOT - Gloucestershire!

Jim @ Cotsweld is very good and a nice guy, he did shed loads of welding to my 71 a few years back and always been happy with it, unlike the company who sprayed it! He's not cheap but he's good The boys at the Vanshack in Oxford are very good too, they do everything and I'm always impressed at...

    Rover v8 powered bay

I've got a golf gti in my bay and its a lot of fun. The rovers a nice lump but getting old........ What about an african T25 bellhousing used for the audi 5 cylinder engine, which happens to share its bolt pattern with (I think) the audi v8. This means you could have an aluminium 4.2 twin...

Single cab people , can you get this panel ?

This would be a fairly easy panel to make yourself. There are a couple of simple folds. The ribbing is only for strength. This panel had gone in my bay and Jim at cotsweld just made another :D Seb

    what are these wheels called

I had a set of american racing hopsters and the offset is mad for a bus! You'll struggle to get them on, I had 6" and 7" by 15" and tried them on the bug for a laugh and even the 6's stuck out of the rear by 2" and I'd have had to narrow the front by 7" From memory they com in american ford and...

    DIY welded dropspindles?

I've only seen one DIY spindle but it was done by a very talented pro and it was a stunning job You can't under estiamte the difference in an expensive pro welder and a cheap mig. Even the best welder can't do it with a halfords own brand gasless mig! I'll be adding adjusters in the split bug...

    DIY welded dropspindles?

This is a very different image than the idea of someone cutting up two sets of stock spindles and mig welding them on a black and decker workmate! Sounds like a good plan, how low are you going? Seb

    DIY welded dropspindles?

Are you planning on mig or tig welding these? I'd be tempted to cut and tack them at home and then get a very good friendly pro to stich them up. Its not just how well you weld but a pro welder mate of mine has a £3500 tig which has to be a better welder than my £150 mig Just my twopenith...
