Unfortunately we have decided to sell Lilly, our 1966 VW splitscreen camper 13 window deluxe walkthrough.
Tax and Test till July 2012. 1641cc twin port single carb. Still on reduction boxes. Stainless steel exhaust. Resto work carried out including:
new cab floor, cargo floor, inner & outer sill under the side doors. Also inner cab step and area under cab seats.
The insides of the van have been primed, stonechipped and painted in lotus white 2k.
The underside has been treated with Black schultz.
The roof and front panel have been repaired and painted in 2k lotus white.
Both sides and rear end have been localled in with 2k lotus white then 2k clear lacquered.
Lowered one spline at rear with dropped spindles up front, also replacement steering box fitted.
Running on 15inch radar wheels resprayed in chcolate brown pearl and fitted with 4 new low profile khumo tyres.
All new brake shoes, hard lines, flexis and master cylinder.
All new window and door rubbers/seals.
Interior wise is a full width rock n roll bed with new 4inch foam mattresses. New curtains on silent gliss tracks.
Buddy seat, removable table which can be attached to brackets on the rear most side door to be used outside.
Also there is a flip up table on the other door.
New flooring panels have been laid with dark wood effect lino.
Spice rack style storage cupboard can be found behind passenger seat.
The roof and interior have been fitted with sound deadening pads and insulation.
Other extras include:
New wood rim steering wheel and original deluxe clock(not wired up)
Also original chrome ashtray and 1966 Volkswagen dealer plate surrounds.
VWoA rear roof rack.
Jobs left to finish are:
Fit the new headliner(supplied)
Fix fuel gauge
Fix heating system
Rear woodwork could do with varnishing and the seat cushions need upholstering.
Other than that, this is a running, driving, useable splitty which we have spent 8 months and several thousand pounds restoring. So far we have been to Leeds VW Festival, Viking Volksfest Northallerton and a couple of camping weekends in Middleton in Teesdale and Durham.
She still gets a fair bit of use even in the Winter!!! Hence she is ready to drive away now.
We are selling to fund some home improvements and purchase a bay window camper or crew cab and familia caravan.
We will consider part X with cash our way. The asking price is £15k as this is how much she stands us. Obviously will be asking more in the Summer having worked through the to do list 8)
