For sale is our 1969 Savannah Beige Deluxe Microbus
Imported from California in 2016 this bus has undergone a mechanical overhaul using top quality parts with the idea of reliability in mind. It is ready to just jump in and go!
A new engine was built using new AS21 case, 1600cc B&P’s, 040 Mexican heads, all new gaskets and seals, new alternator, electronic ignition, flamethrower coil, braided fuel hoses, Weber 32/36 carb, Stainless steel 4into1 header, and ceramic-coated silencer, powder-coated tinware. The engine has covered 6000 trouble free miles including a trip to the South of France, it has never let us down. Has been serviced at required intervals.
Refurbished starter fitted and new starter bush. New clutch and release bearing fitted.
The braking system has been overhauled and all parts replaced for new.
The front suspension has been lowered with weld in adjusters and correct height bugpack shocks.
The steering box has been rebuilt by graham at midland with new steering peg, bearings, seals and gaskets. Also new steering idler pin and bushes.
The rear suspension has been lowered using Slamwerks adjustable spring plates, and the height can easily be adjusted depending on the weight being carried. Correct length Gaz-Adjust shocks have been fitted.
All wheel bearings replaced for top quality bearings, top quality ball joints and track rod ends replaced.
The wheels are Porsche 356 replicas sand blasted, painted silver and lacquered, 4.5j on the front 5.5j on the rear.
The accelerator cable has been replaced for new and a Buttys Bits accelerator linkage has been fitted making the accelerator very smooth.
All gear linkage bushes have been replaced. Gearbox removed and cleaned up and painted. New CV joints.
Electric push button screen wash pump has been fitted.
All needed welding has been carried out. The front panel has been replaced, patches to the cab and cargo floors. New battery tray. All chassis is solid with no required welding works. The bodywork is in a good condition with 85% original paint, the sliding door bottom is showing signs of bubbling rust.
New upholstered front seats and new carpet set. Bluetooth and USB stereo with DAB radio fitted in the glovebox, the dash has not been cut (requires factory blanking plate to finish off) Westfalia rock and roll bed fitted in rear, lapbelts fitted.
There are 2 rips to the headliner at the rear, there is an overhead locker that comes with the van should you wish to fit to cover up the tears.
Lots of paperwork and receipts for all parts purchased.
MOT Till July (Exempt from this month) Tax Exempt.
Will come with thermo mats for the windows and a freestanding retro awning as it suits the van so well.
This is a lovely van to drive and has been very reliable (as intended), 2 MOT’s gave no advisories. The plan was to keep this van and the idea was to invest in top quality parts preventing any problems in the future and make it safe for the family to travel in. Unfortunately we are selling to put the money towards buying a house.
