1970 Montana Red Poptop w/ original paint except on lower rear driver panel and engine lid. The inside of the rear driver panel/engine compartment is clean, a very small dent at some point, doesnt look like any bondo and you can see some original paint under the respray, it may sand off??. There is also a small dent on the lower driver dogleg that can be repaired, it does not need to be replaced. Body is VERY straight, excellent nose and windshield area, with nice Patina look on the rear andother areas. Very nice and original interior w/ great original vinyl floor and all the covers are original and in very presentable and great condition. Cabinets are all nice too, only the rear hatch piece shows any fading. Mechanically it has a newer larger dualport, I believe a 1776 size?? she starts right up and has nice power. this camper has not been abused in any sense, comes w/ original manuals and new owner booklets from the dealership in Maine/see small metal badge above the rear hatch emblem. Nice and newer tires, new hubcaps and side mirrors, she comes with an original Westy stool, the childs cot, mosquito net, and 1 key fits all locks and ignition. Upgraded newer battery as well. All the interior really needs are some custom curtains to finish her off. She also has the original poptop canvas in still decent condition but the cot up top has a tear. Underneath is solid but 2 of the jackpoints will need some help, it looks like they had some wood wedges stuck inside of them and they have rust. Very minor rust spots on parts of the rockers, very low and minor. Great dash, nice steering wheel, small vw toolkit, brand new spare tire, older stereo w/ amplifier. All electrical is in good working order, the electrical wiring in this camper has not been butchered, it's all still very stock and clean and organized. The last owner has owned it for 20 years, he took it to 3 Dead shows, and on the last show, he managed to fit 22 Deadheads in the camper as it entered the park. Too bad he didn't have any pics of that!
Below are 100 pics.

I have references in the UK, my home number is 760-749-9818 or cell is 760-535-7990 if you have any questions.
Thanks for looking
Thanks

Hi!

Nice original bus, would polish up well! Though I would say it's a 69, judging by the electrical socket on the outside and the interior socket on the buddy seat, it's is a different place on a 70. The chassis number will confirm.

Good luck with the sale!

Cheers!

Alistair

The vin starts 230, could be one of those vans right on the edge of 2 years, bits and pieces of each? I'll check the M code for an actual production date and post later.
Thanks for the insight though.

Hi1

Hmm, 230 is a 70, same as mine. I would guess you have pretty much the same M codes as mine, a SO67 Campmobile?

Mine was due to be produced on the 3rd July, 1970, yours may be earlier, and as you mentioned, a inbettween?

Wish mine was red instead of another white westy!

Cheers!

Alistair
