"I present to you".... my 1972 Tax exempt Early Bay, Micro Bus ready to drive away for the summer, she is a real head turner!!!
Where do I start? She has only had 3 loving owners since new and her remarkable condition reflects this. The chassis is absolutely solid and rust free and as far as I can see has never been welded, the body similarly (with a couple of small rust spots).
The engine is once again purring like a dream after we had the carb swapped back to the original twin solex model and tuned her up. It is also worth mentioning that the gears are and always have been very positive (not a sloppy).
She did have a Danbury conversion at some point but is now back to original micro bus format and apart from that has not been modified or altered as far as I am aware. Even the colour scheme remains true to the original “Pastel White†and “Sierra Yellow†One modern touch that I have had added are the brand new rear impact seat belts.
She comes with original service book (completed to 1981) original instruction manual and original curtains which are as good as new! Interestingly she started her life in Stroud, Gloucestershire and has all ways remained in the local area.
On the negative side, the internals are a bit scruffy for instance she needs new floor and trim also there are a few small rust patches on the doors.
In short she is a very honest clean van and comes in the kind of un-messed with condition that is extremely rare to find.
