1973 Oil Filter?

Hi Folks,

Am I right in thinking that my 1973 crossover bay wouldn't have an oil filter? I've certainly never come across one when I've been working on it and I'm sure I would have, but thought I would check as I'm putting it in for a service next week and want to get some parts in advance.

If it has a type4 1700cc engine then there is an oil filter. For the type 1 based 1600, originally came without one.

As Abel says

Type 1 1600 has a strainer in the sump which is cleaned or changed depending on its condition and a type 4 has a regular spin off filter and a strainer too.
