2nd gear reverse lottery

dear all

i have fitted a new front gear linkage and since then i can get reverse whenever i want
so it is causing a bit of a problem

i have all other gears and have done the 2nd gear, stick vertical and plate well over trick but second and reverse seem to been the same gear ???

and ideas??

What linkage have you changed? Did you change the front linkage bush?
Reverse should be locked out with the step on the plate,Have you fitted it the right way around,i fitted it 180 degrees round once and had problems?

Does sound like the plate is in the wrong place, i would keep playing with it as its probably just the plate that needs adjusting 8)

just to confirm then

if i am sat in the drivers seat how should the plate sit???

should the part of the stop plate that bends up towards the cab roof be on my side??

i am only asking as i am sure i had it right but when it got taken to pieces i can't remember if i put it back the right way

The raised step bit should sit on the left hand side of the plate,so turn it 180 degrees and it should be much better
